HOME in WA is delighted to have the opportunity of providing on-going information of the Waterwise Rebate Program, an initiative of the State Government through the Water Corporation, designed to save our precious water supplies and save householders hard-earned money at the same time.

This is part of the WA Government's Water Strategy Incentive Program. Its aim is to encourage West Australians to become more water efficient by offering rebates for a variety of Waterwise products that can significantly reduce our domestic water use.

This week, David Grant talks with Neil McGuiness from the Health Department of WA about the very challenging subject of "Greywater". Neil explains that greywater is gathered from laundry and bathroom waste; how grey water re-use and aerobic treatment systems work and the rebates available to the property owner, once the system is installed.

Rebates of $500 or 50 percent of the purchase/installation price is available ( which ever is the lesser amount). All units and systems must be installed by a licensed plumber.

Since being introduced in February 2003, the Waterwise Rebate Program has proved to be extremely successful.

The Waterwise Rebates are available for purchases made after 11 February 2004 and completed by 10 February 2005 (subject to Terms and Conditions)
