You may have been watering your plants and garden regularly, the reticulation has been on, the rain has been falling but why are your plants and pots still not thriving?

A simple scratch beneath the soil surface may provide the answer!

If the soil is still dry, the watering isn’t soaking into the root zone. It is probably rolling off the soil surface or down the side of the pot so that your plants aren’t getting any water at all.  This can be caused by a number of factors such as compaction, organic matter and potting mixes that have been allowed to dry out, or waxy leaves that break down and coat the particles of sand or soil making them hydrophobic or water repellent.

The application of a soil wetting agent two to four times a year helps to save water and maximise nutrient uptake by increasing the 'wettability' and water holding capacity of hard to wet soils, allowing for deeper penetration of the water into the root zone.  Seasol Super Soil Wetter and Conditioner is an aquatic safe wetting agent combined with Seasol seaweed and liquid composts to condition the soil and boost overall plant growth and performance.  And now it is even easier and quicker to apply with the new 2-litre ready-to-use hose-on spray pack.

So if you want to make the most of every drop of water and save time, apply the new ready-to-use hose-on Seasol Super Soil Wetter & Conditioner to your whole garden.

Always remember to wash over the foliage with clean water after use to avoid burning of the foliage in warm weather or just turn on the reticulation on your lawn.

Seasol Super Soil Wetter and Conditioner concentrate and the new 2 litre ready-to-use hose-on pack are available only at Bunnings stores throughout WA.
