WA's seniors have already contributed a lifetime's worth of giving to our community, passing on their knowledge and skills to younger generations and residents at one retirement complex are continuing to contribute, by assisting the next generation of health care professionals through a unique collaboration.

Students from the University of Western Australia's School of Population Health are completing some of their studies at Bethanie's Joondana retirement village. Established with funding from Health Workforce Australia, the program sees students of medicine, nursing and podiatric medicine come here to learn important practical skills.

Bethanie Joondana is one of twelve retirement villages operated by Bethanie and offers both self-care units and two hostels. The hostels here cater especially for low care residents who require support on a daily basis, providing a range of services including personal daily care by experienced staff, along with medication requirements and any necessary health treatments within the low care range.
Edinboro house offers single rooms for 25 people and Osborne House is home to 35 residents and can also cater for  couples. There are communal areas where residents can get together and the centre's garden setting offers a tranquil, relaxing space for outdoor activities.

The level of care provided here makes it an ideal environment in which UWA students can benefit from the experience of the Bethanie staff and that means the experience of a company that has been providing quality Aged Care services to Western Australians for 60 years.
