Did you know, drowning is the greatest cause of accidental death for kids under five in Australia. Each week, on average, one child drowns….so let’s put an end to childhood drowning for good.
25 years ago, Australian Swimming Coach Laurie Lawrence created the Kids Alive – Do the Five water safety program. The program was put in place to educate all of us on five important steps to reduce the risk of child drowning.

And here’s what Laurie has to say when enjoying your pool this summer…

“Hi, I’m so excited to bring you Kids Alive – Do the Five, in association with Poolwerx.”

“Remember, keep your kids safe this summer by…

1: Fence the pool
2: Shut the gate
3: Teach your kids to swim – it’s great
4: Supervise – watch your mate and…
5: Learn how to resuscitate”

And, tomorrow look out for the PoolWerx van convoy throughout Perth... As proud sponsors of the “Kids Alive do the Five” program it’s an early reminder to all pool owners to keep their toddlers safe this summer.

Remember kids, to do as Laurie says – always be vigilant around water and to make sure your pools remain safe and healthy this summer, visit one of the PoolWerx retail stores, or book a mobile service.
