How do I Choose a Builder?
Finding the right builder is not an easy and it's worth putting in the effort and doing plenty of research.
First, decide what type of housing you want, your budget and your preferred location. This will have a big bearing on your choice of builder.
Builders often specialise in one or two segments of the housing market, whether it’s Contract or Custom Homes, luxury or budget housing, renovations, units or transportables.

And do a quick check with the Building Commission to make sure they are registered.

You can also check that they are a Master Builders member. You see members have access to the latest industry information and extensive training options. You can even see if they have won any construction excellence awards.

Check out your chosen builders’ website, too, and any references from previous clients. You may be able to arrange with the builder to inspect recently completed works.

Before signing it’s a good idea to talk through the contract used, and their payment implications for your budgeting.

Remember, as a prospective home buyer, you have the power to choose your builder. Exercise your choice wisely.
