The 2011 Master Builders Apprentice of the Year Awards are back and here at Home in WA we’d like to congratulate this year’s winner Steve Howden from ABN Training.

Steve’s a wall and ceiling fixing apprentice and won the award for his commitment to achieving absolute perfection in his work. He’ll even finish his apprenticeship 3 months early, when it all comes to an end this December.
Apprentices from across the state were judged on personal skills, trade skills, relationships with fellow workers and contractors, ability to work unsupervised, level of competency and much more.
And it’s not just blokes who were recognized this time around. This year marked the introduction of the Best Female Apprentice Award. With a strong field of eight nominees it was a tough decision, but the award went to Melanie Coles, a third year Carpentry and Joinery apprentice with Jaxon.

The Master Builders Apprentice of the Year awards are a great way to celebrate fantastic work undertaken by apprentices throughout WA. On behalf of Home in WA and Master Builders, we would like to congratulate all the finalists.
