This Weeks Episode of Home in WA

The Master Builders Association has joined forces with the team at SAFER WA as a key player involved in a program called "Site Secure" which has been established to help curtail the theft of building materials from construction sites throughout WA.

Site Secure will be conducted as a pilot program in the NORTHERN CORRIDOR via the Shires of Wanneroo and Joondalup, initially for a period of 6 months.

The Premier, Hon. Geoff Gallop MLA recently launched the program and discusses the problem of materials theft and the benefits of "Site Secure" with Richard Repp in this week's Home in WA.

The initiative concieved by David Davies and the volunteers of SAFER WA will entail 'participating builders' constructing in Joondalup and Wanneroo being given "Site Secure" signage to be erected on their sites. This sign lists the phone number to ring in order to pass on information about suspect activity and items or materials being stolen from sites.

There will be a reward initiative system in place, and the WA Police Department has enthusiastically endorsed the whole program. "Site Secure" will be coordinated by the Joondalup Police, and backed up by the 2 shires concerned. Currently the MBA are looking at the shires promoting awareness of this program through the dispersal of information in their local newsletters and when communicating to new and potential builders/owners.
