The City of Greater Geraldton and the entire Mid-West region are continuing to experience unprecendented growth.  Government and Private investment in the region is seeing the City and the local economy reaping major benefits.
Geraldton is now also positioning itself as the new centre of a 'smart' region and they have an estimated seventeen billion dollars worth of innovative opportunities planned for the next five years.
A four point five billion dollar northern rail link and port at Oakajee is expected to be in operation by 2015.  And a deepwater port is being planned adjacent to a proposed industrial park which, when completed, will be the largest in the State.
Initiatives on the table include establishing the region as an even more significant industrial and logistics hub and because the region has some of the world's greatest and most diverse renewable energy potential, it's also slated as a possible renewable energy hub.

Geraldton also has the opportunity to be involved in the world's most advanced radio astronomy program, the Square Kilometre Array, enjoying the significant technology upgrades that this is already bringing to the region.
With 40,000 permanent residents and all the major services available including education, health, shopping and sporting facilities it's already a major service centre and new residents are being attracted to Geraldton's relaxed lifestyle and its vibrant future.
