Master Builders is recognised as the WA Association of the top builders, contractors, suppliers and consultants, who strive to deliver developers, home owners and investors with quality residential and commercial buildings.

And this was no more evident than at the recent Master Builders-Bankwest Excellence in Construction Awards. This prestigious award, now in its 22nd year, acknowledges mostly ‘large construction’ member builders and subcontractors for their dedication to building excellence.

For the second year in succession DORIC Builders took off the Best Construction Project award. Their winning project this year was not in Perth, but in the Great Southern – It was the Albany Entertainment Centre.

Winning projects are judged on their construction excellence but also the complexity of the project due to construction difficulties. The Albany Entertainment Centre whilst really challenging Doric still exhibits first class construction skills.
The Best State Government Building for the metropolitan region was our very own State Theatre Centre by builder John Holland and Kerry Hill Architects. A complex architectural and engineering project, it features the 575 seat Heath Ledger Theatre, a 200-seat underground theatre, rehearsal spaces and more. Very much a worthy winner.

The number of entries, like One40 William Street, are evidence that the WA economy is still strong. The total value of projects entered exceeded $2.1billion, along with a record number of 76 entries. As major sponsor of the Master Builders, Bankwest were delighted to be a part of this extraordinary evening.

Master Builders has represented the building and construction industry since 1898 and as we’ve seen over many years here on HOME in WA, continues that great work to this very day.
