Esperance, one of the most progressive and modern country communities to be found anywhere in Australia.

The Shire of Esperance, located on Western Australia's southeast coast about 725 kilometres from Perth by road, is one of the most beautiful and liveable places you’ll find. To give you some idea of the extent of the region, the Esperance Shire covers over 44,000 square kilometres, giving the region one of the lowest population densities on the planet. It includes over 400 kilometres of superb coastline, ranging from gently undulating bays and the picturesque islands of the Recherche Archipelago, to the spectacular cliffs of the Great Australian Bight.

There is so much to do and see in Esperance and the friendly folk at The Visitors Centre will point you in the right direction for getting up close with the majestic Southern Right Whales, great self-drive opportunities along the coast and more, but there is also some big projects and plans afoot.

Allan had the opportunity to discuss the foreshore redevelopment plans that are before council with councillor 'Buck' Rogers. Buck told us that, in conjunction with the Port Authority and the Department of Transport, this beautiful area will be opened up to provide, social, environmental, cultural, recreational and economic opportunities.

There’s also the Flinders Stage Two Residential Development – When its first stage went to auction, 11 lots sold at that day and since then two further properties were sold.

The second release is planned for 9 October with the two lots remaining from stage one and an additional 14 new lots being up for sale in stage two.

And the Shark Lake Industrial Park. 28 lots which will all come up for sale to entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to set up shop in Esperance…

There’s been huge interest shown by large retailers who are keen to establish their businesses in Esperance and they are planning to make sure these opportunities are maximised to the benefit of the shire and the community.

To visit … to live … to explore.
It’s all happening in Esperance.
