The 2009 Master Builders Apprentice of the Year award winners have been announced and this year the winner was Paul Gaffy from ToolTime Construction.

Paul, 26, is going into his fourth year of a building apprenticeship and won the award for his exceptional work ethic in the industry. The MBA Apprentice of the Year Awards recognise the best apprentices in the building and construction industry in WA and are for apprentices employed by Master Builder members, Skill Hire and ABN Training.

Apprentices from across the state were judged on Personal Skills, Trade Skills, and relationships with fellow workers, community work and much more.

This year’s judging panel for the awards consisted of Master Builders Construction Director, Kim Richardson, Chair of Master Builders Training Committee and Director of Artique Homes, Malcolm Goode and the Executive Director of the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund, Ralph Dawson.

Paul Gaffy was also entered into the National Apprentice of the Year awards, and guess what? He won that as well!

The Master Builders Apprentice of the Year awards are a great way to celebrate fantastic work undertaken by apprentices throughout WA. On behalf of Home in WA and Master Builders, we would like to congratulate all the finalists.
