In keeping with the current trend in residential development, Howard Solomon Residential Estate is planned around a central High Street that will house facilities like a Café, GP, Physiotherapist and Hairdresser.  The difference is that Howard Solomon specialises in care for the Aged.

The current Howard Solomon facility has been catering for both low and high-level care residents for more than 25 years and this facility will remain in place whilst the Staged new Residential Estate is constructed on the existing site.

Howard Solomon recently undertook a study in conjunction with Curtin University into the effect of a Person-Centred Approach to Aged Care.  The study showed that offering residents choices on such decisions as mealtimes, personal care and day-to-day needs can make an enormous difference to the residents’ quality of life, dignity and sense of well-being.  The results of that study have not only been integrated into the everyday operations of Howard Solomon but have also been integrated into the design of the new Howard Solomon Residential Estate.

The new care facility will include single accommodation with ensuites for 45 high-care residents and a further 61 low-care residents.  The new facility has also been awarded 20 additional specialised places for people with dementia.  Also to be constructed onsite are 26 new Retirement independent living homes where interaction with nursing and hotel services can be provided along with 24-hour security.

Freemasons WA have been providing necessitous care for the Aged for more than forty years and with developments like Howard Solomon Residential Estate - that are more like Communities than care facilities – they’re effectively providing residents with more than just the necessities.
