We all know about the enormous Super Pit, founder Paddy Hannan’s statue, and famous heritage listed hotels … but what about the other ‘must see’ attractions that we might not know about? Where do we start?  The Kalgoorlie – Goldfields Visitor centre!

You wouldn’t be doing yourself a favour, nor the history and heritage of this culturally rich and diverse area, without first visiting the Kalgoorlie-Goldfields Visitor Centre at the Town Hall which will reach its centenary next year. From here, you can really get a feel of where this town’s come from, and where it’s going to … and most importantly, where and how you should head off.

It’s a must to take in the drive from Kalgoorlie to Menzies. This is unforgettable. And also, just to the North, the ghost towns for a look at what this area was really like, then there’s the fabulous and historic hotel at Kookynie and The Gwalia mine first managed by Herbert Hoover, later to become President of the USA. You will discover all this and more at the Visitor information centre.

To find out exactly what you should see and do in this fabulous place, start your expedition at The Kalgoorlie-Goldfields Visitor Centre, in the majestic Town Hall building, Hannan Street Kalgoorlie. It’s open 7 days a week.
You will not be disappointed.  9021 1966
