Bunbury is great town.  It's country living but it's still relatively close to Perth, has all the amenities you need, the weathers rarely too hot and never too cold, the air's fresh and the water's clean, and it still has that relaxed coastal town feel about it.

The population of Greater Bunbury is growing rapidly, with more and more people choosing lifestyle, over city living. Which has certainly kept the Department of Housing and Works extremely busy with the release of numerous land sub-divisions in this area.

Glen Iris is a well-established suburb just a five minute drive from the city centre, and continues to provide some of the most affordable land in Bunbury. The current development in Orchid Drive is conveniently located close to many amenities and incorporates a newly developed landscaped park. Lots range from 332sqm to 544sqm and start at $120,000.

But you've got to get in quick. 54 lots have just been released and already 47 of them have been sold. But another 55 lots are due to be released in the next few months.

If five minutes drive to the city centre is five minutes too far, then Forrest Estate may be more up you're alley. It's on Blair Street in the heart of Bunbury and there are still 20 lots on the market, ranging in size from 292sqm to 564sqm.  The Department of Housing and Works will release a further 25 lots at a later date.

There are a host of amenities and schools nearby, as well as the beautiful Forrest Park and it's only a short stroll, not a drive, into the city.

But if you prefer to be a little bit further out, in amongst the trees, then you might be interested in the established Dalyellup Beach Estate located just minutes south of Bunbury in the stunning Shire of Capel. Dalyellup is a joint venture between the Department of Housing and Works and Works and Home Satterly. It borders 100ha of Tuart Forrest and future plans for the area include 120 hectares of coastal reserve and 11 hectares of beautiful foreshore reserve

Prices range from $157,00 for low maintenance cottage lots to $652,000 for premium lots overlooking the ocean and or the estates picturesque parklands.

If you're looking at buying for an investment it doesn't matter which of these estates you buy in. Bunbury is growing by the day and its population is expected to more than double by the year 2031, making it a genuine rival to other major regional cities such as Townsville in QLD Newcastle in NSW. So you'd be on to a winner no matter where you buy.
