Mitusbishi 380

This Weeks Episode of Home in WA

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd

The new Mitsubishi 380 is perhaps the most eagerly awaited manufacturer launch of a new car in the past decade. A massive television and print media campaign preceeded the recent launch and the public were told to expect a modern well designed, better built and better backed product but with that familiar styling and badging that Australian's had come to rely on and trust.

The shape is contemporary without being too outlandish. The interior is practical andcomfortable and the price is certainly competitive, but what about performance and reliability how would these aspects stack up against the competition.

Home in WA's Ross Dunkerton got the chance to road test one straight off the production line and found out first hand that the 380 is a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Each side of the 380 is a complete piece, unlike other manufactured vehicles, which gives the bodyshell strength and rigidity resulting in very little body roll. Over sized brakes make a comforting safety addition with 2 piston calipers on the front with ventilated discs on both front and rear.

The 380's engine is a class winning V6 24 valve with the latest engine management system that provides outstanding fuel economy and there's a huge list of standard features including 4 air bags, power windows, electrically controlled drivers seat and automatic volume controls situated on the steering wheel, just to name a few.

Ross gives the new 380 a big thumbs up and for anyone looking for a large roomy comfortable car with the performance of a sports car, a test drive in Mitsubishi's stylish 380 is a must.
