It happens just one a year and the highlight is one day that bigger than any other. Of course, we're talking Seniors Week and the highlight, Have A Go Day.

This is the eleventh year that Have A Go day at beautiful Burswood Park has offered the more mature members of our community the chance to "Come and Try". There's a huge range of activities from the very energetic to the more sedate and it's a whole lot of fun for everyone.

The Seniors Recreation Council and the proprietors of the free monthly newspaper for over 45's, Have A Go News, put the program together with outstanding success.

There was T-ball, dancing, the climbing wall, a flying fox and fencing right through to garden advice, adult learning and volunteering. The Australian Sports Commission has established an after-school activities program for school children throughout the state and is inviting volunteers from our over 45's to take part in the supervision. Contact 9492 9769 for more information.

We're pleased to say that Channel 7 is the major sponsor of Have A Go day this year and even offered guided tours of the television studios in Dianella where our over 45's could soak up the history of television production over the years.

So another very enjoyable Have A Go day, even allowing for the changeable spring weather
