The 2005 Metropolitan Telethon Home was officially opened on Wednesday September 14 2005 in its brilliant location at Brighton Beachside Estate, Jindalee.

The modern, stylish home was designed and built by Perceptions the 2-story home builders on land provided by Heath Development and the Markham Development Group. This is the seventh year in succession that this Perceptions and its legion of willing suppliers and trades have supported the Telethon cause.

Telethon began in 1968 and has raised $68 million for children and young people throughout Western Australia over the years including $2.9 million in 2004.

Telethon provides significant financial support to Western Australia's world class medical and research institutions, Princess Margaret Hospital and the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research. Telethon also helps a number of charities providing services and assistance to the community.

HOME in WA has continually highlighted throughout our 2005 series, that the building industry is going through an incredible boom with trades and supplies in short supply. Thank you to everyone who spent their spare time and weekends working tirelessly to complete the home. We know that there were many weekends throughout the construction process where teams of people were working enormous hours!

The 2005 Metropolitan Telethon Home will be auctioned on the Telethon Weekend, Sunday November 13. However, it is now available for sale by private treaty and is open for inspection Saturdays from 1-5 pm and Sundays 12-5 pm.
