It seems that every time we come here to the Mid-West something else has grown or changed and this visit is no different. The Geraldton foreshore redevelopment is already well underway with Marine Terrace fully revamped and the railway that cuts between town and the beach will soon be removed completely. And it seems that there's even been a bit of a power struggle in the area.

The struggle to find a renewable source of power, that is. The Alinta Wind Farm will be by far the largest renewable energy generator in Western Australia, capable of powering the equivalent of 60,000 homes or removing 80,000 cars from WA roads each year.

Construction of the 90 Megawatt wind farm is underway near the town of Walkaway in the Shire of Greenough with locals Crothers Construction laying 35km of roads, carrying out site excavations and constructing 54 embedded concrete tower bases at the site so far.

Here in the City of Geraldton itself, Crothers Construction has also been involved in a number of projects as part of the CBD redevelopment.

The Batavia Coast Marina revamp is all but complete and Crothers was a part of the recently finished Broadwater at the Marina. Their twenty four apartments offer a chance to take advantage of the City's best waterfront location, with direct frontage to the Marina and Champion Bay.

The development itself offers a great tourism and investment opportunity for the City and Crothers Construction's upcoming project on the Abrolhos Islands will no doubt do the same.

The development will be located on Long Island in the Wallabi Group and will be Western Australia's only international standard resort, comparable to the Great Barrier Reef Resort in Queensland.

The development will draw on the experience gained from Crothers Construction achievements in commercial, civil and industrial constructions, refurbishments and development projects in their home town and throughout the state.

And as the City of Geraldton and its surrounding region continues to grow, Crothers Construction continues to be the name behind many community and commercial constructions in the region, from shopping centres to Rural Health Centres.

Crothers Construction is a relatively young company but the Crothers name has a long history in the region and it's the companies who've played a large part in building the of Geraldton of the past who continue to play an important role in building the Geraldton of the future.
