HOME in WA has been following the procedures of the BCITF, talking to administrators about the need for more skilled workers and trades people in the Australian workforce and the wonderful opportunities available to young people wishing to make a career in the building and construction industry a first choice option.

The Building and Construction Industry Training Fund, known simply as the BCITF, provides financial assistance to builders and contractors for the placement and training of apprentices and for the ongoing skills improvement of their employees.

MPA Skills in Maylands, Perth is a training centre for apprentices in Plumbing as well as Painting and Decorating.

General Manager, Gary Arcus, explains the importance of the links between MPA Skills and the BCITF and the many benefits to both employers and apprentices, through the BCITF funding system.

Further information can be obtained by calling the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund on 9381 3900 and details of the courses available at MPS Skills on 9271 3200.
