Heating your home with natural gas is better for your health and for the environment, it's more efficient and it's more economical. But there are more ways to save on your energy usage and your energy costs than simply switching to natural gas. Of course, if you're starting from scratch you could build your home to be more energy efficient, but if your home is already established, what else can you do to be more energy efficient with your heating?

When you're choosing a natural gas heater, or any other gas appliance, look for the stars on the Gas Energy Rating label. The higher the number of stars, the more efficient it is.

By choosing a higher number of stars, you'll help minimise the amount of energy used in your home, you'll be helping the environment and, more importantly, you'll be saving money too.

Another way to make your heating more efficient is to run a ceiling fan on low speed or on its winter setting to help circulate the air through the house.

We'll have another home heating tip for you next week, but if you'd like more information on gas heating, just follow the link to the Alinta site.
