Most visitors to Broome and Western Australia's north west region arrive via Broome International Airport.

The airport formerly consisted of two runways, but when the Federal Government sold its interest to Broome International Airport Group in 1991, the airport was rationalised, the second runway removed and surplus land became available for residential development.

Roebuck Estate was a long time in the fastidious planning stage, utilising all the best principles in the creation of a new community alongside the heart of an established regional centre in Broome. Now, Roebuck Estate is widely considered the best planned residential estate outside the Perth metropolitan area.

Once completed, there will be over one thousand residential lots and a number of medium density housing sites; Broome's third Primary School is nearing completion; there will be a a village centre and a total of four hectares of landscape parklands.

So particular was the planning of Roebuck Estate that life at Roebuck Primary began for the first 60 students, in six purpose-built houses - Western Australia's first regional "School-in-Houses" project

Block sizes allow plenty of room for the typical Broome characteristics of wide verandas, roomy boundary setbacks and elevation to allow for cooling air-flow. Lot sizes range from 700 to 900 square metres in a price range of $140,000-$170,000.

Roebuck Estate also supports local community activities, being major sponsor of the annual MBA Regional Building Excellence Awards for the past three years as well as supporting a number of local clubs and organizations
